The two main characters, a 15-year-old Roma and her father live together but lead separate lives. He is a scientist; she aspires to be a ballerina. When the girl shows symptoms of a disease worryingly similar to the one her mother developed before she passed away, the father fearful for his daughter’s life, tries to rebuild their relationship.

The documentary Paderewski : The Man of Action, Success and Fame, directed by Wiesław Dąbrowski, presents the story of the great Polish patriot, world-famous pianist and composer, statesman, diplomat, politician and philanthropist. Thanks to Paderewski, Poland regained independence after World War I.
Paderewski’s great and memorable achievements are discussed by several historical witnesses, including the US presidents Ronald Reagan, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, George Bush Sr., Poland’s former president Lech Wałęsa, general Edward Rowny, Cardinal Józef Glemp – the Primate of Poland, as well as musicologists: Jerzy Waldorff and Jan Popis.
The film features Paderewski’s preserved original piano performances, follows his diplomatic work, and includes footage of his last journey from Arlington National Cemetery in Washington to the crypt at the Basilica of St. John in Warsaw’s Old Town.
The project was made possible by the financial support of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Office of Culture of the Municipal Office of the Capital City of Warsaw. Produced by the AVE ARTE Foundation, the film won a Chicago International Film Festival Television Award: Certificate of Merit (in the category of Documentary: History/Biography) at the 50th Chicago Film Festival, the main prize for the Best Historical Documentary of the DocMiami Florida Documentary Film Festival 2014 in Roca Baton, as well as the Silver Saber at the 5th International Historical And Military Film Festival in Warsaw.
